🎙️ In today's episode of our Exam Success Stories series, our CEO Isabelle Nicolas discusses with Mykhailo Doubinsky about his successful fide test preparation which led him to obtain his fide Passeport des langues in October 2023.

Mykhailo was born in Kyiv, Ukraine, where he's lived for most of his life. He moved to Switzerland 10 years ago with his family. He works as a lawyer in an LtD company and has been living in Saint-Sulpice near Lausanne. Initially he contacted us to prepare for the fide B1 oral exam, but even after successfully passing it (with 84%) he chose to continue studying with us until complete French fluency.

fide Test Success Stories: Irene Abraham

In this series, our CEO Isabelle Nicolas discusses with Irene Abraham about her successful exam preparation which led her to obtain her fide Passeport des langues in July 2022.

Irene works as a toxicologist at JTI and has been living in Geneva for the past 10 years. She contacted us to improve her French conversation as she wanted to feel more comfortable in her everyday life in situations such as family gatherings (her husband is French!) and discussions with her daughters’ crèche and school teachers.

When she realised that she had to renew her Permis C by early August 2022, she decided to prepare for her fide test with our Super Prof Brice. On July 19th 2022, she passed her A2 written and B1 oral fide tests with flying colors. This now means that she is fully covered to apply for both her Permis C and her Swiss naturalisation, which she plans on doing in the near future.

Imogen is a busy entrepreneur based in the Lausanne area who, after living for 11 years in Switzerland, had to prepare for her Swiss naturalisation process. fide Test Success Stories: Karen Henderson

In this series, our CEO Isabelle Nicolas discusses with Karen Henderson about her successful exam preparation which led her to obtain her fide Passeport des langues in December 2021.

When she contacted Prêt à Parler, Karen had already passed the written and reading part of her fide test but she needed help to pass the B1 oral part.

Her background is different from most people who come to Switzerland. Originally from the US, she grew up in a small community in southern West Virginia and came to Switzerland with her husband in 2011.

Now retired and 70, learning French was not easy for her as forgetting words and having to learn them again were added challenges. Hesitant at first, Karen booked a trial lesson and the rest was history. She took her exam at Université Populaire de Fribourg on 18 December 2021 and happily informed us in January 2022 that she had successfully passed her fide B1 test!

DELF Success Stories: Davide Pio Boeri

Davide would like to go on with D.E.L.F/D.A.LF. training and have the level certified by taking the exams. Furthermore, he needs French for his daily private and business life. He moved to France and has a strong need to improve his vocabulary.

Fun fact: The DELF is a French exam which has been established more than 20 years ago in France and is recognised all around the world. The fide test is a Swiss exam that was created less than 3 years ago and is only recognised within Switzerland at the moment. DELF goes with questions based more on business, theoretical, and philosophical topics.

Davide took his DELF exam on 24 March 2022 at Alliance Française, Annecy, and since the recording of the interview, he passed DALF C1 exam in August 2022!
