Tonight feels strange.

Like something shifted beneath my feet and I can’t quite find my balance again.

I keep thinking about the things we never talk about… the questions we push down because we’re afraid of the answers. But eventually, those quiet questions have a way of finding us anyway.

Part of me wants to run from it all.
Part of me knows I can’t anymore.

And somehow, in the middle of all the confusion, I’m starting to wonder if God is trying to reach me, too.

I didn’t expect my life to feel like this like I’m standing at the edge of something I don’t understand, unsure whether to run or stay.

People say I’m “starting over,” but it feels more like pieces of my life are being uncovered. Some painful, some confusing, some I didn’t even know were missing.

Today I met people who carry wisdom in different ways...Nathaniel who is steady like wood, and Gideon, who seems to be shaped by fire. And both left me wondering if I’ve been avoiding something I was meant to face.

There are texts I don’t understand, memories I can’t place, and a name that isn't mine but strangely feels like it should..

I don’t know where this is going. But maybe healing isn’t about everything making sense first.

Maybe it’s about walking forward anyway.

I woke up with my heart pounding this morning, and for a moment I didn’t know why. Then I remembered… the photo, the mysterious text, and the questions I can’t seem to shake.

I went to see Grandma Eden today. I told her more than I expected to about my life. She listened the way she always does, like there’s no rush and no judgment.

Later, she left a basket at my door to help me heal. Is that even possible? She left her homemade tea, a soul-care workbook called "Glowing in the Dark" and a note… and something else she didn’t mention. I don’t know what it means, but it feels important.

And then the text came again calling me “Amira.”

I don’t know who they think I am… but today, instead of hiding, I answered. I have a feeling I just stepped into something that will change my life forever.

Tonight my heart feels heavy. Mira came today with the box from the attic, the one I told her about in the secret room Robert built years ago. I always knew this day would come, yet my hands still trembled when I saw it.

She asked about her childhood again today… those small memories that quietly hold a family together. I was grateful for that. And the bluebird! oh, I was so happy she found it. Robert gave me that carving as a promise that no matter how far he traveled, he would always come home to us.

But today also stirred an old fear. A few days ago, Eleanor called me. When I heard her voice, I knew the day I dreaded was getting closer. She is so angry and hurt by my actions. I was only trying to keep Mira safe. My mind is not what it was. I did play that up with Eleanor. She was so mad at me. I can hardly take it.

Tonight I am praying. God, please give me the strength and the wisdom when the time comes. Guard Mira’s heart and help her see the love behind the choices we made.

Today, my phone rang and for a moment, it was her: My mother. Clear. Present. Calling my name through the fog of dementia like a candle flickering in the dark. I should have felt only relief. But instead, worry rushed in.... again.

I came back from Grandma Eden's today, still unsure of what I’m doing here… or how to begin again.

She told me an ancient story, one about wells that felt strangely meant just for me. It was gentle, but unsettling in the way truth often is.

As I listened, I realized something: healing isn’t just about time passing. Something in me has to choose something different. My patterns can’t stay the same if I want things to get better. And for the first time, I wondered if this hard season might be asking more of me than survival… it might be asking me to change.

Today, I met Mira at the edge of what she believes is the end.

She came to me carrying that particular kind of loss that doesn’t always have words—when life has unraveled all at once. Divorce. Moving. Her mom. And now, the job she depended on… gone. To her, it feels like a burial. Like everything she built has been taken and placed in the dark.

But I’ve lived long enough to know something she cannot yet see: Sometimes what feels like being buried… is actually being planted.

Hope rarely arrives loudly. More often, it comes like a whisper. A small light. A gentle hand reaching through the soil. This is the start of Mira’s journey… the beginning of her learning that what feels like being buried may, in fact, be the very place where something new will take root.
