A year ago I was taking the plane from Paris to Keflavik international airport, it was my first time travelling alone at only 16 years old. Arriving at the airport, taking the bus from Keflavik to Reykjavik, I had the feeling of beeing on another planet. But then I got to talk with Icelandic citizens and they made understand their strange country. I've studied the evolution of their feminist movement going from is history to what they wanted for the futur. This futur that in the summer of 2019 couldn't predict what was gone happen in 2020 but which was full of hope and ideas to make the movement evolve. I've decided to share you those ideas as goodbye for now.

I don't have more Icelandic stories to tell but I may come back at anytime with a bunch of new stories to share with you ! Have a nice summer and see you later for new discoveries !

I've wanted to interview foreigners living in Iceland to see their perspective on feminism. During those interviews I've realised that insclusivity was still and issue on that field to and that foreigners go through issues that Icelandic feminist don't know that much about.

Most cases are dismissed cause they aren't enough evidences. In Iceland it's still the case, but some are researching and looking for a new way to judge thoose cases. Episode 2 : Icelandic feminism history : from Briet to the seventies

To dive into Icelandic feminism I wanted to share with you the history of it starting with the story of an increadible women named Briet Bjarnhéðinsdótti. She paved the way for many women by starting this fight for equality and giving the first icelandic feminist lecture. In this episode you will learn more about her by the point of view of Dalrun an oral historian and Brynhildur the head of the Icelandic women's right association.

Briet was the first but the struggle continued from generation to generation, mostly popularies in the seventies by the Red socks and they first Icelandic women's strike in 1975. Maria who was part of this movement shared with me her memories of it has well has Helena who was very young at that time. With those voices from all around Iceland you will learn about the beginning of this crazy movement.
